Hey, how's everyone doing out there?
This is my first time back here in a hell of a long time, and just thought I'd drop a line saying Hi.
It looks like there's a couple of you who still actually post here. I'm looking to maybe start playing some CoE soon, and wondering if there's anyone who maybe wants to start up a game via chatrooms or something (I'm gonna throw out a wild guess that I don't live anywhere near those of you who do post here :\)
Ashe, man, I know it's been a long time, but I'd love to get back in contact with you. I changed my MSN to strangemonuments@hotmail.com or live.com or whatever MSN is using nowadays. I think it's hotmail.
So yeah, just checking in, saying what's up.

Ah a voice from the darkness!
There are four in our group, though only 3 of us post here. We are located in the northeast of England - I assume you are in the USA?

Hi Domini
Nice to hear from someone else. :) As Elune says, there are four of us (three who use the forum) based in NE England. Not really a lot more to say except that we're playing a CoE campaign that finally appears to be reaching its climax. Some nasty Dark types are trying to bring good old Narsheakh Mal-Khannan through and end the world! Our heroes plan to stop them! They're currently forted up at the Tor, a crossing point between worlds so that the Dark cannot (ab)use it.
I'm not sure about playing an on-line game. I don't usually play any type of on-line game; hell, I'm not even sure I have the time! Aren't there any people (in your area) that you can con :p into a face-to-face game, or is it the usual problem of finding players?

I used to play Vampire: The Masquerade through AIM, it actually works surprisingly well (there's a dice function and everything).
I am in the US, but it's a problem of me moving in the near future/not having anyone who's ever heard of/could get their hands on the game.
I'm thinking of trying to get something started with a friend as a chat game, if any of you are interested, I could let you know when that starts up.

We had a game of Hunters running not that long ago; investigating the supernatural in the VtM world. Unfortunately, for one reason or another we left the game up in the air, but there you go. Perhaps we'll get back to it at some point.
I agree, CoE is certainly one of the lesser know games out there, which is a pity, as I think it's a very imaginative game and deserves a lot more attention. That said, the game being relatively unknown was actually a selling point with our particular group; we wanted something that none of us were familiar with. The choice of CoE turned out well :)
Moving can be a real problem in the gaming sense; finding a new group/friends! On the other hand it can also provide opportunities. Good luck with the move and getting re-established.
Certainly, at least as far as I'm concerned, feel free to let me/us know if and when you manage to get a chat style game going. I may not have the time and the practicalities (i.e. time differential) may mean that I can’t participate, but we’ll see.
As for establishing an on-line game; well, I've never really doubted that it could be done, or even that it could work reasonably well. I do vaguely remember Elune mentioning sites with dice rolling functions etc, but I’ve never really paid that much attention only being involved in face-to-face games at the time. Let me/us know how you get on and, as I said, we’ll see what develops.

Some of our group have jobs (the bane of all rpg groups, like girlfriends & wives lol) so that may be a problem for them, though I'd certainly be up for it, although the time difference would probably mean I'd be in my PJ's hehe.
