The dark can be taken as a metaphor for many elements from oppression to suppression. Be they the power of the time (such as Rhome to Europe back in the time of Caesar or the Catholics of the dark ages slaughtering the Jews) or the forces working behind the scene in order to corrupt all that is good (See 'Ministry of Magic' in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). For the purposes of running a more historical or simply a more realistic campaign, elements of the Dark may easily be incorporated into more recognizable entities. Obviously the quickstart rules have already set a specific scene, but take the powers away and you may utilize the system to run a campaign based upon on oppressed people who attempt to rise to power. Examples would be the serfs of France in the times of Joan of Arc or the more common Jews and Homosexuals during the holocaust. Write your own world, your own people, your own race, or just change history to your liking.

Challenge for fans of 7/13:
Take a stab at it, throw some ideas out, feel free to post them and, if you have a local crew, try it out and let us know how it works out for you. Remember, we're only a hop, skip, and plea away from any questions you may have regarding system rules or tips for running the next great campaign.

Challenge for my own crew:
What are the odds of us running a campaign that losts longer than two weekends before we drop it for the next thing? HRMM???
