Ok, so, not having a book of my own yet, I have a question about point allotment for a standard 100cp character.

On Primal Aspects, do all of them cost 1cp or are there some variances?
Also, what do you do with the modifier boxes? I asked Mike (the only one I could get ahold of last night, since yall were gaming) and he didn't know. But I was making my character for the Siege campaign, and was coming up against some differences in mine and the others that had been posted in the thread so far:

PRIME: [17]
STR 3 [2]
DEX 4 [4]
RTN 3 [2]
AFF 3 [2]
MND 2 [1]
DEF 4 [4]
LUR 3 [2]

PSYCHOLOGICAL: [11] [-2]
Courage 6 [6] Fear 1 [-1]
Hope 3 [3] Despair 1 [-1]
Calm 2 [2] Frantic 0

CALCULATED:
Break Level 12
Critical Tolerance 3/6/4/5
Speed Factor 1
Glow 10

SKILLS: [50]
Awareness DEX 2(6) [4]
Deception LUR 2(5) [4]
Diplomacy LUR 4(7) [8]
Firearms DEX 1(5) [2]
Insight MND 3(5) [6]
Interrogation MND 2(4) [4]
Operation (car) DEX 1(5) [2]
Persuation LUR 4(7) [8]
Scrounging MND 3(5) [6]
Unarmed Fight DEX 2(6) [4]
Wilderness Ttcs MND 2(4) [4]

GIFTS: [3]
Fearless [3]

FRAILTIES: [-3]
Allergy,
Beesting [-2]
Dust [-1]

ASSETS: [3]
Equipmt, Minor [1]
Haven, Minor [1]
Transptn, Minor [1]

RAZE: [21]
Lia 4 [12]
Linaya 2 [6]
Tare 1 [3]

17 + 11 - 2 + 50 + 3 - 3 + 3 + 21 = 100

So I guess I'm just looking for a little clarification on how they put this together, since I guess I got a different tutorial on character making, and am having a little trouble gleaning what I'm doing wrong from the Siege download.

Thanks,

Stacy.

According to Chapter 4 of the book (and, hopefully it's in the Siege as well), Primal Aspects should increase in costs by rank according to teh following chart:

Rank 1: 0CP (free - everyone has at least rank 1 in any Primal Aspect)
Rank 2: 1 CP
Rank 3: 2 CP
Rank 4: 4 CP

Thus, if you wanted a character with rank 3 in STR, It would cost you 2 CP.

As for the rest:

Skills cost 2CP/rank with a max of rank4 to start
Positive Psych aspects cost 1CP/rank and Negative Psych aspects give you 1CP/rank
I should note on gifts that if you are playing a Lirie-Kana (human character), you are alotted either two 3CP gifts or one 4CP gift for free as a racial bonus. Other gifts cost 3-5CP each depending on the gift concerned.
Frailties give you back 1-3 CP depending upon the severity fo the frailty concerned.
Assets Cost between 1 and 3 CP
Raze affinities cost 3CP/rank

Thus, if you wanted a character with rank 4 in STR, It would cost you 4 CP.

As far as the modifier boxes go, they are simply there whould you possess an item in game or take a specific effect that adds a modifier to your Primal Aspects that is temporary. In most of the games I've played in, we've never really had to use these boxes. I put them there because they may be useful for some crews , particularly if there are Ether-empowered items being wielded, etc.

The calculated aspects of the character (break level, etc) are based off tables in the book and on a combination of two Primal Aspects (for Break Level it would be STR+DEF and refer to table whatever in the book)

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions you can always drop me a line here :)
