So since the book has been out and selling and whatnot I thought I'd drop a line up and see if anyone is running a campaign in CoE or on Seven13. I'm interested to know what sort of angles people are coming up with and whatnot.

Hey, Chris. It's Q, from Tri-Games over here in Houston.

Since I bought the book, I've been wanting to run the game and have been having a stream of ideas regarding the sessions and the campaigns that I'd place. Sad part is that I kinda am having a rough time with the damage system (with english not being my native language and what not, I tend to misinterpret it), but still, I believe that I'll start them on October.

For my first angle, I was thinking of the actual group of adventurers escorting an important member, of a specialized branch of the Light Defense, called: The Inquisitors. The setting in which I plan to have them interact is "an inquisition", which the Dark is known through the NW and the OW is actively recruiting people and training them to work against the unstoppable menace. Sadly, the Dark has been slowly but surely pushing back the OW Inquisitors and are managing to recover some of the lost ground in the past 20 years. The Group is going to face a series of challenges, traps and political battles becasue of the influence the Dark controls even within the Inquisition, pitting them against their own.

I have a few plots that I have in mind, but I wanna give them the opportunity to surprise me, so I'm pretty much planning to only think of half of the stuff, and do the other half on the fly.

What do ya think?

Q

P.S. If I get stuck on the system, could I drop a question or five hundred on the forums?

That's generally how we do it, Q. It's always important to have flexibility in campaigns to adapt to different gaming styles and to allow a few twists to keep all of your players interested in the plot.

I personally think that you're campaign angle shows quite a bit of promise. The never-ending mystery of double-agents in games has always been one of my favorite angles... especially that key scene when so-and-so turns on the party. Deceipt runs both ways.. it might also be fun to have a party member try to infiltrate the dark as well and have them running info while trying to deal with walking-the-walk so as not to be discovered.

But feel free to drop as many questions as you like, just so long as you promise to let us know how that campaign angle works out for ya ;)

Thanks a lot, Felix. Will do tell how it went, once I get the hango n the system. Character Generation isn't that hard, though I tend to overthink on how to break the character (bad habit of mine, thanks to Grant Laugen, he who made me play D&D again) within the acceptable boundries. That sucks for them, because I tend to specialize in breaking stuff...

anyways, thanks for the encouragement.

hi.
we have a group of 4 people , and have just started playing c of e.
It has been difficult to find times for all of us to get together (inconveniences like girlfriends, family and jobs keep getting in the way ).
Our local rpg shop appears to be selling out of cycle of existence, though they only stock a couple of copies at a time.

We have been looking forward to this game for a while, so I hope we can keep the group together long enough to play it ! :)

Well keep us posted, I'd love to start hearing some campaign stories on here. Of course, I probably owe all of you info on my campaigns, which I'll make a point to start doing here when I get a bit more time.

My group and i are in full swing with a campaign, and we all agree that the system (And setting) is brilliant!

Currently ive had them defend their home town from the "dark" (Used the Siege as inspiration) after which they joined up with a powerfull agent of "the Light", to hunt a creature that escaped the battle for the city (the main villain atm).
At the time of writting they have just had an encounter with the creature in the White house of Washington D.C. where its minions where slowly sacrificing the assambled Government one at a time. (The P.C did manage to avert to much destruction... )
One of the P.C's lost a leg to gunfire, and the other where almost killed by a Koraji.

The storyline i am running with is that a powerfull creature of the Dark (Known to mortals simply as "the Dark One" have escaped into this world, and is quikly overwhelming the U.S.A , and allready the entire East-coast have been overrun.
Not every village whas as lucky as the one the P.C's was defending where as lucky, and most of the population centres they've passed have been deserted, of devastated.

In this post apocalyptic (ish) setting, 2 strong cults have risen.
One that is actively trying to kill ANY strangers, and another that is fighting against the Dark.
The players have had a few run-ins with both of these factions, the latest being the entire remaining ppopulation of Washington D.C helping them overcome the Koraji guards at the white House, so they could move in and fight the "Dark one"

(And i even managed to squeeze in a rooftop chase xD)

I am enjoying Gming this campaing tremendously, and my players tell me that they enjoy it too, soo... everythings fine!

(He fled the combat, leaving behind Koraji to deal with the P.C's)

Hi All.

Just thought that I'd say hello.

I'm one of the group of 4 people mentioned by Elune (see post above). In fact I'm the evil GM that is giving the group so much trouble ... or at least that's my intention anyway.

As for the game? Well, seeing as none of the players were familiar with the background, I decided to fix things so that none of the characters knew about it either. This required quite a fix, as it's a mixed race group consisting of a Lirie-Kana, a Silana and an Asana-Lea.

Their parents had raised them in relative isolation from the conflict, but taught them honour and respect for the old gods and the old ways ... at least that's the idea anyway. As for the reasons for the group being raised in ignorance; well, I can't really say too much as one of my players (Elune, or El as she's normally called) is likely to read this. That said, reasons do exist, and they will be explained (hopefully) during the course of the game.

The scenario? The group is based in Boulder, Colorado, and the trio of intrepid fools :) ... sorry, I mean heroes, are sent by their parents to New York City to pick up a painting (this was intended as a short introduction to the game mechanics). Upon their return to Boulder they find that nasty things have happened ... sorry El! Specifically, that the club their parents ran had been burnt to the ground, and that all of their parents had died in the fire!

What to do now...? Was the fire an accident (as if!)? Who was responsible? What are the group going to do about it? I'm sure that you get the general idea!

Of course it doesn't help that the group knows effectively nothing of the true situation and possess no ethromantic powers (they get them later) or anything like that.

Well that's it for my first post, I'm really just saying hello.

By the way, I love the game and the background. Keep up the good work Ashe.
