One thing i have always liked doing was a traditional "Arena" campaign. The idea that has been rolling around in my head lately is The Dark are into the underground fighting arenas, and your character stumbles on the arena. By whatever means he/she does. It is very incomplete but I had to get my idea out there and maybe someone can help me get it rolling.

Arena situations I've encountered are either mini-games from console RPGs or remakes of 'Snakes on a Plane' (what was I thinking.. I want my $8.50 back) When it comes down to it, arenas cut the story from a game and make it straight dice-rolling and number crunching.
Now you may be all about that sorta thing.. and I'm cool with that... but let me suggest a fun twist. Instead of basing a campaign around an arena event, why not kick it off with an arena event. Take for example... Saw 2. Instead of death-traps looking for potions.. it's more of a game of survival for the characters against the other people. One of those "you were drugged and you all wake up in the same place with no idea what's going on things" Each of the characters are there for a reason and the ultimate goal being that the survivors are granted a life of servitude rather than death. The campaign can move from there to the player or players attempting to escape servitude and take their newfound information to the light network.. then just let the campaign run from there.
As for the arena... nobody liked gladiator enough to want a huge stadium with no toys... I recommend a warehouse decked out in quake-like fashion with random objects.. anything from wire-wisks and baseball bats to old crates and maybe a loaded pistol or two (with limited shots naturally) Make the place rickety so that they can use the warehouse itself to their advantage. Dangling electrical wire, steam pipes.. the works... Let their imaginations of brutal killing run wild!
Okay.. so that's just my two cents. Any elaboration or NPC development questions, either post here or PM me. I'm around.
