This shall serve as the first installment to an unwritten tale. Chad is in the fray of those who don't believe. Will he escape? Will he want to?

Chad dug fervently, uncovering the plank he had hidden earlier.

Dirt gathered under his long fingernails. Chad always used to preen himself carefully, but in this case the so-called 'doctors' didn't like him being around sharp objects.

That rule was originally something he had considered unwarranted. Though overtime he had come to present each and every one of the doctors with some form of death threat.

He stopped for a moment to run through his mind the idea of killing someone with a pair of nail clippers. A smile reflected mild entertainment from the concept.

Two corners uncovered gave him just enough leverage to life the plank as the dirt on top slid to the far end.

There had been some concern that it had rotted with time, but they were quickly vanquished as he tested it cautiously.

Climbing the tree one-handed proved no problem. The branches were low and sturdy, more like a jungle gym. That seemed the intention to him as he passed the spot where Rebecca would sit everyday.

His trusted plank proved it's worth as it fit perfectly between the tree and the wall, granted he was already sure of his calculations, he still let out a sigh of relief.

Though it was windy and the plank was not wide, he was no stranger to walking balance beams and eventually stood safely on the wall.

There was a fence that ran around the premises, but walking south along the wall he came to a point where they were no more than four metres apart.

Landing safely was a simple matter for someone with Chad's natural gymnastic ability. Leaping four metres from standstill was also a simple matter for him, but that act is attributed to an ability far from natural.

That was the second time he'd broken out of there. This time he wasn't going to make the mistake of going back to his so-called parents.

Of course, it only makes sense that they sent him back; he certainly must have sounded insane babbling about rat-men in the sewers. If they had just gone with him he could have proved it!

He looked back at the prison of a building behind him...

"I wonder how many of the others were locked up just for telling the truth..."
