Well, as usual, I never update this site. Things in the last few weeks have been beyond hectic, but I'm happy to say I'm now in a position to do a lot more work on 7/13 projects, which is a good thing as CoE is about to hit major release. So here's what I've got for you today:
Official Release With Key20

seven13: Cycle of Existence will be officially released January 1st 2007 through Key20 distribution (http://www.key20.com). Gaming stores will now see CoE in their regular catalogues for Alliance and other major distributors worldwide. So any of you out there who have local retailers, go after 'em and get them to carry the book. CoE will also be able to be ordered individually through Key20 and, as always, through Talon comics (http://www.taloncomics.com), though I personally urge you to support and order through retailers as they are a major factor in making the industry and hobby work.
Current Body of Work

Currently the major work I am doing is on the generic and advanced version of seven13. While seven13 itself as it appears in CoE is definitely usable as a generic, there were always certain system factors and additions that I personally wanted to included for those of us who like to go a little deeper into the mechanics. Also, I'm a nutjob and I think system designing is kind of entertaining. Therefore, I am working on a complete version of the seven13 rules designed to help anyone run a seven13 game in any setting or style they want with more considerations than those rules presented in Chapters 2 and 3 of 7/13:CoE. Topics currently under production are:
- A Combat Maneuver system including more ways to hurt the other guy and new ways to keep the other guy from hurting you.
- An advanced skill system including specializations and a better reflection of learning, difficulty and unskilled attempts for actions
- A training XP system that more closely reflects the way characters in the game would actually increase in aspects
- Expanded insight into creating and balancing new races and creatures
- An archetype/ character kit system providing progression factors and whatnot for those of you who enjoy the class-style method of advancement, but still prefer a bit more freedom
- A tactical method of combat for those of you who love the minis and play mats/terrain
- A wounding system for use either with minis/tactical or in classical games based on a narrative or faster combat visualization method
- Methods of diceless play for those of you who want to run seven13 in your high-school detention like I used to when I got sent there for writing it in the middle of Algebra II. Also, because I've never written a diceless mechanic and thought it would be fun.

Eventually, I hope to provide a synopsis and layout of the campaign I am currently running out here in Texas for those of you who are interested. This would, hopefully, eventually include a free notes-version of the campaign for the GM in PDF similar to the Siege.
For now, that's all I can think of. I've been at a bit of an organizational/writer's block on finishing the design feature, but hopefully I will be back to that soon after working some more on all of this system stuff. To the Tri-Games guys: sorry I wasn't able to make it out there much this holiday, I was pretty strapped for time and had a lot of family commitments, but hopefully I will see you all again soon.
Oh, and Don: If you're reading this one, drop me a message on here or email me as I'd love to get with you again on doing more of that flash stuff for the record sheet. I could probably take up the workload to a point with a little insight into how the scripting goes with flash, but I'm rubbish when it comes to the program.
